Hello, thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. In the gram stain, gram positive cocci are seen. No AFB seen on ZN stain means tb bacilli were not seen. However in culture no growth is given. It could imply that the gram positive cocci on gram stain were the normal commensal bacteria seen in the throat and pharynx, or the bacteria were dead and hence did not grow. Another reason could be that the patient is on antibiotics and culture comes negative in case of antibiotic intake while giving sample. Hope i made your doubts clear. Thanks.
