What Does This Stool Routine Test Report Indicate?
Hi, I have abdominal cramp after meal followed by stool for last 15-20 days I also had blood during the passing of stool. I went to a doctor .He told to perform stool routine test & stool culture test. Stool routine test report: Mucus : Absent; Blood: 0-1 /hpf; Ameoba : Nil, OVA: NOPS; Cyst :NCPS; Colour : Light Brown; Consistency: Soft Doctor started metronidazole500 mg & Spamsol Waiting for Stool culture analysis report Thank you
Your stool report indicates that they have not detected any pathology that might be responsible for your symptoms. Your stool culture is still pending which may rule in or rule out certain diseases like infection with bacteria such as E.Coli, C. Difficile, etc. Your doctor prescribed you metronidazole which is often used in the treatment of C. Difficile infection. Based on your stool culture reports, he may or may not modify the treatment.
