Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently went for a stress test. I was able to complete to test, however the results indicated -1, I am not sure what this means. My cardiologist indicated that there were unusual electrical activities - what does that mean ? He has prescribed Amlodophine 5 mg and one Aisprin a day ....I am worried about my condition ......am I at risk ? Thanks
The Duke Treadmill Score (DTS) is a point system. It is used to predict 5-year mortality in patients without known coronary artery disease, based on treadmill ECG stress testing. Low risk (score > 5) indicates a 5-year survival of 97%. Intermediate risk (score between 4 and -11) indicates 5-year survival of 90%. High risk (score above 11).
In high-risk patients, 74% had 3-vessel or left main occlusive coronary disease on angiography. Your stress test result suggests you are at intermediate risk. Your blood pressure might be high on repeated occasions and thus you are given amlodipine 5mg. Unusual electrical activity may be changed in your ECG. You don't need to worry but you have to use the prescribed medication regularly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
