Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor, I experience palpitations, and I had stress test which showed a borderline ST depression, are they related ? will palpitation cause the irregular chart of ST depression in the STRESS test report ? should I take concor 2.5mg for my palpitation ? I had also done Cardiac Echo Sound on the heart with no problem detected. IS the Stress test mainly for detecting blockage or it could be showing other sign of problem with different underlying problem of the heart ? Thank you
Normally, ST depression of more than 1 mm in ECG recorded during stress test indicates Coronary artery disease. The extent of the disease can be studied by angiogram. ST segment changes are commonly noticed in a patient with palpitations. So, you may not have Coronary artery disease. But it does not rule out completely. Provide your further details such as age, gender, weight and nature of work for further conclusion. Rule out thyroid disease in palpitations.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
