Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Sir, My TSH- 12.34, T3- 88, T4- 7, HbA1c- 9.4% & ABG- 223 mg. Pl. suggest the dose of Thyronorm. I am type 1 diabetic since last 30 years. I am aged 43 now. presently taking Human mixtard 21 & 12 units in morning & night and Thyronorm 50 mcg 1 tab in the morning.
Hi Based on the result of thyroid function test, you seem to be taking inadequate dose of Thyronorm.
I advise you to increase the dose of Thyronorm after consulting your treating physician. Kindly repeat the thyroid function test after 4 weeks and check the response of the treatment.
The recommended optimal TSH level should be in the range of 0.3 to 3 mIu/mL while taking Thyronorm.
Your diabetes is also poorly controlled, so the dose of Human mixtard also needs to be increased by your treating doctor.
Hope these will help.
