What Does This Thyroid Test Result For Weight Gain And Hair Loss Indicate?
hello dr,am a woman of 34 yrs, unmarried. as i find it difficult to lose weight and suffering from excessive hair loss of late so my doc sugested total t3 & t4 along with TSH test. my t3 is 123 ng/dl, t4 is 8.9 ug/dl, and tsh is 7.61 uIU/ml. she prescribed me thyrox 50 once a day before meal (breakfast). my question is, as my total T3 & T4 are within the nomal range then why my tsh is high? should i continue with the medicine or go for detailed analysis of the same. thank you...

Hello,
You had done pregnancy test of urine at home on 13th day delay in periods. Normally, home pregnancy test gives reliable results after 8 days delay in periods.
From that point of view you are not pregnant with the test you refer to provided you have regular periods with ovulation. If ovulation is irregular, pregnancy test might get -ve at the time you tested it.
Breast engorgement,pain in ovaries -abdomen are suggestive of ovulation problem(PCOD).
This needs to be confirmed by USG pelvis & hormone estimation (that you had already done)USG would also confirm possible pregnancy withdelayed conception.
Plase consult your gynecologist with your pathology reports & get specific line of treatment to help you.
