What Does This Ultrasound Report During Pregnancy Mean?
Hi there i have just been for a ultra sound for pregnancy of 6 weeks and have been told there is excess fluid compared to baby and need to go for another scan in 2 weeks, what does this mean, is it common? This is my first child and have tried for a long time due to endometriotis and fell naturally
Hello, excess fluid in utero during pregnancy is called as polyhydramnios. There are multiple reasons for that to occur. It’s not common to occur but there is treatment for it if at all it persists. That is the reason they have called you for repeat scan after 2 weeks to see whether there is more rise in fluid or it is same. I would advise you to get a repeat scan done after 2 weeks and to follow up with your doctor if there is rise in fluid. Thank you
