Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am on day 18 on my period and got off birth control two months ago. The ultrasound showed many bilateral follicles on both ovaries with a volume of 5.5 cc and 8.5 cc Does this mean I have PCOS? Can I get pregnant? My periods were very regular even before I went on the birth control pill.
1.PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome - is hormonal imbalance, which might cause weight gain, facial hair growth, and irregular periods. 2.It does not always effect the fertility in all individuals. 3.If any of the three symptoms mentioned are there - hormonal treatment is needed. 4.The ovaries are upper limit normal in the volume. 5.If you are planning to conceive, please follow the ovulation calendar, follicular study. If not able to conceive for few months - then hormonal treatment is needed.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
