Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. In my ultrasound test conducted today it states that I have fatty hepatomegaly. Both lobes of liver appear enlarged in size ( 18.3 cms ) and it further states that diffuse increase in parenchymal echogenicity is seen s/o fatty infiltration. Is this a cause for concern ?
Thanks for consulting. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
this report shows you have reversible damage to your liver. if the damage continues to happen it may go for permanent damage and liver failure. so kindly stop or reduce your drinking, avoid high fat diet and oily food items, junk foods, carbonated drinks, and tablets that are poisonous to liver. with the healthy life style you liver will come back to normal. the damage could be due to increased alcohol consumption or if you are a women obesity and high fat diet.
Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards! Dr. Arunmozhi varman
