Hello,

Ovarian cysts are little sacs of fluid that form on or in a women's ovary. Many women have no symptoms. When symptoms do happen, they can include pain or pressure in the lower belly on 1 side. Ovarian cyst cause by normal ovulation because when ovulation the egg is released from the ovary each month. For this reason, the ovary grows a sac called a follicle. this kind of cyst is not harmful.

If you have no symptoms you no need to do any investigation for ovarian cyst. Your irregular period should do test BHCG to rule out pregnancy. In case you are pregnancy you may need to check with your doctor regular. If you have any severe abdominal pain see your doctor as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician.
