What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi Doctor, Recently I went through a Ultra Sound and get the below details that made me worry. Kindly check and let me know if some thing is serious. 1. Scan was done using a CONVEX/TV scanner. 2. Scans show anteverted uterus of normal echo pattern and contour. 3. Thickness of endometrium = 5.4 mm. 4. No mass lesion or gastation sac is seen in the uterus. 5. Both the adenexae are clear. 6. Right ovary is normal in size , shape & echo pattern. 7. Left ovary measures 4.0 x 1.7 x 2.3 cm ( 8.69 cc). 8. Left ovary show multiple small follicles arranged peripherally with increased stroma. Number of follicles in left ovary are more than 8. 9. Bladder is well distended and does not show any Intraluminal pathology . 10. No Pelvic collection is seen. IMPRESSION : POLYCYSTIC APPEARANCE OF LEFT OVARY. ADV. : CLINICAL CORRELATION. This is what i got in report. Please let me know what should i do.. Thanks & Regards, Kiran

PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is an entity characterized by increased number of follicles in the ovary due to insulin resistance increase in certain hormones like LH. My suggestion is to avoid eating sugary foods, avoid beverages and reduce weight by regular exercising. It will decrease.
