Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an ultrasound due to microscopic hematuria and the result shows the following: Right kidney 11 cm, left kidney 13cm. There is mild bilateral hydronephrosis and hydroureter, slightly greater on the left. No significant bladder postvoid residual No calculi No pelvic free fluid. Findings suggerst mild bilateral obstrauction, vorrelate with CT IVP What does it mean? is it serious? I was reading information on internet and it talks about renal insufficiency.
It is really serious because this means that the kidneys are enlarged and especially the left one and its ureter. There also exists an obstruction which causes the enlargement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
