Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hii, one 36 yrs old leady complaint pain in abdomen & vomitting ;usg abdomen done report is uterus is anteverted & normal in size & measure 7.2*3.9*3.3 cm endometrial thickness is 8.0mm,no e/o focal lesion seen left overy appear normal e/o 20*14mm sized right resolving haemorrghic ovarian cyst noted no e/o free fluid in POD Stomach shows edematous wall (APD)
The report shows edematous wall of stomach indicating APD that is acid peptic disease. The fluid in POD that is pouch of Douglas may be due to inflammation of the stomach. Gynecological evaluation looks to be within normal limits except for the resolving hemorrhagic ovarian cyst. Hence I would advise her the following: Consult a Gastroenterologist for an upper GI Endoscopy to see for the cause of edematous stomach wall, any ulcer or impending perforation or so. Further management will depend upon the clinical evaluation and findings of the investigations. Till then take a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone. Also take an antacid when on an empty stomach if tolerated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
