Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Sir, Need the interpretation of the Ultrasound (KUB) Report of my Father, aged 71 years. Kidneys are normally sited and are of normal size and shape. Right Kidney measures 8.9 x 3.6 cm, Left Kidney measures 9.2 x 3.4cm Urinary bladder is well distended and shows mild trabeculated outline. No intra luminal lesion seen. No Calculus is seen. Prevoid Volume - 217 .8 cc, Postvoid volume - 38.4 cc. Prostate is enlarged in size (approx volume 36.8 cc) with heterogeneous echotexture. A well defined round hypoechoic lesion measuring 1.8 x 0.8 cm is seen in the prostatic parenchyma in right paramedian region - further evaluation would be necessary. Margins are smooth.Mild bladder base indentation seen.
USG (KUB=Kidney, ureter and bladder) report suggest normal kidney, no stone in ureter and bladder is also normal. But prostate has been enlarged which may cause difficulties in urine voiding. Though in most of the cases its benign prostatic hypertrophy but further investigation like biopsy may be needed to rule out any malignant condition. Don't worry if a biopsy is normal than medications will restore the size of the prostate. if not than surgical intervention needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nirav Nimavat, General & Family Physician
