What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Can you please tell me the meaning of Single early intrauterine gestation of 5 - 6 weeks gestational age ? It seems that it s early pregnancy. Please let me know it s true or false ? And also please find below details regarding my USG report and kindly suggest for further instructions: Right Kidney: 96*42mm Normal in size, echotexture. CMD maintained. PCS compact. Few small 2-3mm sized calculi are seen. Left Kidney: 101*35mm Normal in size, echotexture. CMD maintained. PCS compact. Few calculi are seen, largest measures 4mm. Uterus: Gravid and bulky. Reveals a well defined gestational sac within. Yolk sac embryonal pole not seen within in the present study. MSD - 6mm AGA - 5 - 6 weeks. Impression: Single early intrauterine gestation of 5 - 6 weeks gestational age. Bilateral small renal calculi in the maternal abdomen. I am totally confused with this. Please help me to understand this. And also kindly suggest me how to take care of kidney stones during this pregnancy?

Hello,

Single early intrauterine gestation of 5-6 weeks gestational age means that it is too early in the pregnancy to be able to visualize all the components of the baby. I would recommend waiting for some weeks and repeat the ultrasound. Normally at 8th week, you can see it better and also see the heart of the baby beating. So wait 2-3 weeks and go repeat the ultrasound again. So to reassure you, the ultrasound has not visualized any problem with the pregnancy.

About the kidney stones, drinking plenty of water during pregnancy it is very important. Also try to avoid foods that cause kidney stones, especially the ones with high salt quantity. Otherwise, there is not much to do about the stones. If they do not cause pain, then the risk of intervening during pregnancy it is high for you and the baby.
