What Does This Ultrasound Report Mean?

I have been having severe pain in my lower right leg in the back. It at times is warm to touch. I had an ultrasound done and they said I had residual from either an old blood clot or a very small blood clot that needs no treatment. Can you please explain this to me ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

If a blood clot entraps inside a vessel of the leg, it causes blockage to the flow of blood and that leads to the symptoms of ischemia which you are facing now a days. It may be a new clot of blood formed recently or it may be an old clot residue that has entraped in there.

In both the situations it is needed to follow up as the Physician said to you. It is causing no major blockage that it should be needed to remove right away. What happens is, sometimes such little clothes dissolve at their own and pose no issues. So you have not to worry and keep calm. Take pain medications and consult your physician to prescribe you some Aspirin to help your clot dissolve and no new clots formed at the site.

Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
