Hi,
Firstly, you need to know that these are two different glands. One is the
thyroid gland which affects the entire human body and the second is the
parotid gland which is a secretory gland. It secretes saliva and helps in digestion. The parotid report shows homogeneous pattern, this means the gland is the same from each dimension. If there is something different from normal it would be called heterogeneous or inhomogeneous.
Also, there is difference in size so it may be a local infection from
oropharynx cavity. The right is effected because this side was previously operated upon. You need to check out from doctor and maintain a proper
oral hygiene. Second is the thyroid. It is the most important gland that affects
metabolism of every single cell of the body. Therefore, you need to show some concern because there is significant change in the size of the gland. First you have to do your thyroid profile and start treatment medically and consult your doctor at the earliest. It is curable, hence, there is no need to worry much.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Abhishek Khera, General Surgeon
