Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have a 12 x 5 x 12 mm and 5-6 mm deep, mass on my neck right side near my collarbone. I ve had an ultrasound that suggested it may be inflamed tissue, abscess and even stated a foreign body maybe there. I was sent from radiology to a general surgeon and then sent for a CT. The ct stated I do have 3- 4 mildly enlarged lymph nodes and there is no abscess or inflammation. Also no fat stranding and no fluid present. Now I ve recently been referred to ent and they are wanting to do a biopsy and remove the lump/mass. I m pretty worried because everything I m reading online says that in most cases this is cancer! What do you think? Should I be worried?
Biopsy will be required for the enlarged lymph nodes since the lymph nodes are deep and no accessible to fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC). I suggest you to relax and wait for the biopsy report.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
