Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Ultrasound report says that Gall Bladder is distended. No calculus or mass lesion is seen. Wall is not thickened with no obvious pericholecystc fluid. Common bile duct is not dilated. So shall I have to be serious for this. If yes then please tell me to which specialist I should go for treatment..??
Hi & Welcome. Incomplete data: age, gender, purpose of doing ultrasound scan, any associated symptoms, any other lab tests. The ultrasound report is suggestive of Gall bladder hydrops. It refers to marked dilatation of the gallbladder due to chronic obstruction of the cystic duct resulting in accumulation of the sterile non pigmented mucin. If you do not have any symptoms its likely be due to fasting. Other causes include tumors or polyps or extrinsic compression by tumor, lymph node, or fibrosis. I advise you to consult a gastro enterologist (surgical) for further evaluation. Hope the suggestion could be useful.
