General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Black spot on placenta denotes placental lakes, a collection of blood in placenta. There is no definite relation between placental abnormalities or fetal abnormalities and the black spot. Still it's for radiologist to be careful on noting placental normality in following USG scans.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
