What Does This Ultrasound Result For Pancreas Indicate?

My husbands endoscopic ultrasound showed pancreatic parenchyma like abnormalities consisting of diffuse echogenicity, hyperechoic foci, hyperechoic foci and shadowing foci were noted in the pancreas body and in the pancreatic tail. He had a severe case of acute pancreatitis a month ago & doctors are still uncertain of the cause. He is not diabetic nor an alcoholic however He did drink occasionally. Gastritis was also found during the ultrasound.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

I have gone through the ultrasound findings you have provided and there appears to be no abnormality in the pancreas as the pancreas normally shows diffuse increased echogenicity and the shadowing foci are to be expected in a patient with a history of pancreatitis. Further imaging like MRI and lab tests like serum amylase and lipase maybe of help in further management.

I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
