What Does This Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

Hello, this is my 38th week of pregnancy and last week a second ultrasound was made to determine the place of my placenta. The report says: A single intrauterine gestation is found. The lie is vertex. The placenta is anterior and free of the os. Its appearance is physiologic. Amniotic fluid volume is within physiologic limits. The AFI is 14.0cm... So my question is what does it mean placenta is anterior and free of the os?. I am trying to have VBAC and would like to know if this condition allows me to have VBAC. Thank you for your answers and advice.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the ultrasound report is as follows:
There is a single pregnancy i.e. single baby with head down position.
Head down position is normal position of the baby.
Placenta is attached to the anterior wall of uterus, which is again a normal position.
Placenta free of os implies that the placenta is no where close to lips of the cervix.
This is a favourable position as chances of complications are negligible in this condition.
The amniotic fluid or the fluid around the baby is sufficient.
Thus, all parameters are within normal range.
There is no need to worry and you can have a safe vaginal delivery.

Thanks and take care
