Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
34 wks scanning found a 1900 gm, after that doctor suggest for 5 days trip, after that 2 weeks doctor told to repeat scan then found B/L prominent fetal renal pelvis ( right - 7.5 mm, left - 8mm) - suggest postnatal Evaluation. now metnstrual age : 37 wks 4d. please tell me if there is any problem.
The scan showing bilateral fetal renal pelvis can be due to extra-renal pelvis. Extra-renal pelvis is a normal renal anomaly. This may give rise of repeated urinary tract infection in future. However, currently there is no risk to well being of the baby.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
