What Does This Ultrasound Test Result For Thyroid Indicate?

Hi, I did twice the last 3 months a thyroid blood test that shown lower TSH levels. My FT4 is normal and the doctor said that this is the start of hyperthyroid. however the ultrasound show Hasimoto which reflects to hypothyroid. Do you have any idea what the problem will be? I have several symptoms, feeling tired, loosing hair, gaining kgs, being stressed, have acne (on 30ies). I am totally confused. Do I need to do any further hormone or vitamin tests? Thank you in advance.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

In case there is suspicion of Hashimoto's disease, anti TPO (thyro-peroxidase) levels should be done in addition to thyroid function tests. Hashimoto's disease causes hypothyroidism and is common in young females.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
