What Does This Ultrasound Test Result For Uterus Indicate?
Hi I am 27 years old for the past 6 months I have had painful irregular periods and spotting between my cycles. My left pelvic area has felt heavy it radiates to my lower back inner thigh and back of leg. I recently went to the doctors due to postcoital bleeding. I was then sent for a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound. During the ultrasound they discovered I have a cyst on my left ovary. The ultrasound report states I have an anteverted uterus measuring 8.9✖️4.1✖️4.8 cm. Report states homogeneous myometrial echo texture was noted. Endometrial echo stripe is normal at 5mm. Left ovary is enlarged measuring 5.8 ✖️4.0✖️5.0 cm. Presence of left ovarian cyst measuring 5.3✖️3.7✖️4.2 cm with the presence of septations. No free fluid in cul-de-sac. Is there any reasons to be worried about these findings?

HI, Thanks for the query to health care magic. I have read & understood your query. The USG report shows, -Cyst on your left ovary is big enough to cause pressure symptoms Because of nerve supplying the area. ( pain in pelvis , going to lower back , thigh, leg too. - It is also septed.. which can turn into a simple functional or complex cyst. - Absence of free fluid in cul de sac indicates it to be intact/ non malignant till now. * The usual plan to treat such ovarian cyst is wait & watch. - IT may not increase in size or reduce in size & resolve over time/ change it's texture & the pressure symptoms get lesser - The size may increase > 10cm / pain becomes unbearable/ it turns in complex cyst.. it needs surgical removal. Thanks.
