Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Ultrasound Test Result Of Uterus Indicate?
Anteverted uterus with and intact isoechoic endometrium single dominant cystic follicle with a polycystic background, right ovary Polycytic, left ovary no adnexal masses seen no cul-de-sac fluid, please ho can help me to explain the result of my ultra sound
The above ultrasound result implicates normal uterus and endometrium. Right and left ovaries seem to be polycystic but it depends upon the day of menstrual cycle you are in when the scan is taken. Right ovary has single dominant follicle which is very much normal. Overall I would opine this to be fairly normal ultrasound result. To know if the polycystic ovary persists, rescan has to be done immediately after your periods next time.
If you have normal periods and no other symptoms like excessive weight gain, pimples, unwanted hair on face, you can ignore the polycystic ovaries. But the most important thing is weight control. Please make sure you won't gain excessive weight and keep yourself physically active by exercising daily 45 min 5 days a week.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
