Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had burning sensation during urination and milky discharge so I took Azithromycin for Chlamydia. The discharge stooped after a a day or so and a slight intermittent burning sensation remained. (much less sever than the original burning sensation) So about a week after my Azithromycin treatment I had an urine test and the result came back with UTI. Exact result s reading: Color: Yellow Sugar: Negative Albumin: Negative WBC: 3-5 RBC: 0-1/hpf Amorphous Urates: Few Do I have UTI? If so, how sever of UTI is it and what should I take for it s treatment?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The latest urine report is showing presence of 3-5 white blood cells (WBCs) in urine. Presence of WBCs in urine is suggestive of urinary tract infection (UTI). The antibiotic azithromycin has probably not been effective in treating the infection. I suggest you to get a urine culture done. If the culture turns out to be positive, then a drug sensitivity needs to be done. Drug sensitivity identifies the most appropriate antibiotic effective against the causative micro-organism.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
