Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My girlfriend complains of unusual odor similar to the odor of having menstrual cycle and some wetness discharge specially after sex. I told her I would get myself checked and this is my urinalysis result. Color: pale straw Clarity: slightly hazy Reaction: 6.0 Specific Gravity: 1.010 Glucose: negative Protein (albumin): negative WBC: 0-1 /hpf RBC: 0-3 /hpf Amorphous urates/phosphates: occasional Bacteria: occasional Mucus threads: occasional Squamous epithelial cells: occasional.Do I have a problem?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Urine analysis report you have posted does not indicate any abnormality. Colour is normal. pH of 6.0 is normal. Specific gravity is normal range. There is no presence of glucose and albumin. Slight haziness in clarity could be due to presence of mucous threads and cells, which is acceptable. Her problem is certainly not associated with urinary tract abnormality. It could be due to presence of infection of vagina (bacterial or fungal). Hence it would be advisable to take advise on consultation with Gynecologist. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
