Dear doc, recently I started with high fever and bodyache (including joint pains) fever kept coming and going... And fever came with shivering...visited my local physician and he diagonised a throat infection on my tonsils...antibiotics were given (polyclav I guess this is the name) a dose for 3 days to be taken twice a day... But the throat pain increased and this time I started feeling a poking pain.. During 4 days of fever. The fever would come anytime of the day...then I give up coz of no relief and see another doc...who then advises a CBC/urine routine.. Results....blood is clear...but urine report showed (and to the best of my knowledge as I dnt have the report with me as of now)
Colour:- hazy
RBC:- 2-3 rbc/hpf
Pus cells :- 4-6/hpf
Kindly advise if I should be worried.. I am a male 31 yrs old soon going to be 32 in May...
Your urine findings suggests urinary tract infection(UTI).You may have had dual infection,UTI and throat infection. It may be the reason for persistent fever.
UTI is indicated by hazy appearance of urine presence of excessive pus cells and RBC in urine.
You need clinical correlation and investigations like renal function test,Urine culture and sensitivity and Ultrasound of KUB.
Proper antibiotics can be prescribed after culture and sensitivity report. You should drink plenty of fluids. I also prescribe alkalizing syrup to my patients.
Get well soon. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
