Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my urine sample came back with things that were abnormal in these areas: mucus 3+ calcium Oxalate crystals present, squamous epithelium cell (rare) and 1.9 in lactic acid levels. With all this said, my doctor was not concerned......looking for a second opinion.
The presence of:
- calcium oxalate crystals mean your urine is more prone to stones so should drink more fluids
- mucus 3+, squamous epithelium cell and 1.9 lactic acids are not to become a concern. Lactic acid means urine is a bit acidic, should drink more fluids especially plain water with urine alkalinizers (cranberry, uva-ursi) etc.
I too am not concerned except for the fact that you should increase fluids intake.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
