Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am living in a sober house, I have been sober for 90 days, I am on suboxen, prozac lamictal clonidene and doxepin every time I take a urine test the line for benzos gets lighter and lighter meaning its positive I have not taken any sort of benzo in over 90 days what can cause this to happen
While interpreting the result of urine test for benzos, it should be known, that the test is considered positive only, if there is no line in test region. It will be considered as negative, if any line appears in test area.
As this line is not corresponding to the quantity of Benzos or their metabolites present in urine, therefore any line, even if light or faint, the test is taken as negative. Therefore, in your case, if the test is showing test line as very light, it is negative-not depending on the faintness of the line.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
