Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr., i recently did a vaginal swab and would like to know what the results mean. The results states : Gram Stain: Pus cells 1+ ; Epithelial cells 2+ ; Gram-Positive Bacilii 3+ ; Gram-positive Cocci 2+ ; Gram-Negative Bacilli 1+ Wet Prep : Trichomonas vaginalis (None) ; Yeast (None) Culture : HIGH VAGINAL C/S Normal vaginal flora isolated. thanks a lot.
You should have mentioned the symptoms and discomforts that you have. Anyways, the test shows that the sample taken for culture was from High vaginal area. The test result shows negative reports for yeast infection and trichomonas vaginalis. The report shows normal vaginal flora. However, the report should be clinically related.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
