What Does This Vision Scale While Suffering From Keratoconus Indicate?
I have keratoconus in both of my eyes... In my left eye with or without glasses my vision is a 20/150. In the right eye with glasses my vision 20/100 n without them it s a 20/150... Will I be able to work with this type of vision? Also, if not can I get disability since it s a medical condition..
Hi.. Welcome to HCM.. thanks for the query.. Have you undergone any treatment for keratoconus? any other investigations done? the vision is definitely less but not to the extent that you can be given a disability... on the other side as the keratoconus is a progressive condition you need to concentrate on treatment.. if the corneal thickness is more than 450 microns you can for a procedure called corneal collagen cross linking to stabilize the condition.. It doesn't improve the vision much though the quality of vision is slightly better.. So do discuss with your doctor what is best for your eyes and proceed accordingly. Hope this information is helpful to you.. take care.. will be available for further queries..
