What Does Tight Sensation In The Hip Joints Indicate?

My daughter (22 yrs) and I (55) have oddly similar symptoms that we haven t received much relief from. One symptom is tightening at the hip joints. Mine is made worse by some arthritis in the hip joint, but otherwise, drs have directed me to more weights/resistance training. Daughter also gets odd tightening in her hips. The other weird, shared symptom is a feeling of weakness or exhaustion in certain muscles only. For me, those muscles tend to be in my legs and particularly calves. For her, it is her arms. We keep making excuses to ourselves about why we re having these pains (oh, I walked on sandy beach... or maybe I m low in iron... or maybe my simvastatin is making me achy.) Any ideas? Thanks
