What Does Tingling Sensation In The Throat And Ears Indicate?

I am experiencing pins and needles in my throat and my ears (I also feel pressure in my ears and they are itching at the same time), I have excessive salaiva (the feeling you get before you throw up), rapid pulse, along with the pins and needles in my throat I also feel a burning sensation in my throat. I got instantly fatigued and am breathing heavily. If I touch my neck (by my throat), it hurts. This all happened very quickly. I feel like my tongue and lips are swollen and have a metal like taste in my mouth. Help!?

Hello,

As per your query, you have tingling sensation in the throat and ears which is because of nerve impingement or pressure on facial nerve which can lead to facial paralysis.

Visit neurologist once and get it examined to rule out nerve compression, neuralgia or other conditions like neuropathy.

Go for physical therapy of facial muscles. Avoid opening mouth extreme wide while jawing. Also consult ENT specialist for tonsillitis.

It could be related to stroke. Neurotropic medication such as nerve supplement, methyl cobalamin is effective to improve your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
