What Does Two White Spots In Sonography And Chances Of Down Syndrome Being 1/25000 Mean?
I am 25 week pregnant and my age is 25. During sonography doctor saw two white spots, one on baby heart and the other in baby brain, but during 18 weeks of blood test the chance of down syndroms is abour 1/25000. i really very worried about it. Plz help
There are many small appearances on ultrasound when doing scan on fetuses. These white dots are known as soft markers and may be present in both normal and abnormal pregnancies. This shows that the rest of the ultrasound should be done with care and any possible finding picked up. I think there is no major abnormality in your child. The chance of 1/25000 for Downs is very less and you need not worry for it.
