What Does Ultrasound Finding Coarse Myomoterium Complex Left Ovarian Cyst Indicate?

Hello Doctor. I am 36 yrs. old and got my Ultrasound done for pelvis and abdomen to rule out PCOD. The report says Ultrasonologically no gross morphological abnormality is detected in the gall bladder, pancreas, kidneys, urinary bladder, uterus except for 1) Coarse Mymoterium 2) Complex left ovarian cyst. Pls let me know what does it mean and if I need to refer a Gynaecologist? Also, pls let me know if I am suffering from PCOD.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us

Your findings doesn't indicate PCOD.
Coarse myometrium may be due to many reasons.Normally it should be homogeneous.Coarse echotexture may be due to adenomyomatosis etc.
Complex left ovarian cyst only need follow up USG.
However, its benign nature should be ascertained. In most of the cases, complex cysts resolve with time.If there is some complications then you may need intervention.
You should consult gynecologist.

Get well soon.
Take Care
