My fiance went to ER Thursday night and they ran a few blood tests...they came back with the result of underdeveloped white blood cells...what does that mean...could it be because he has been sick for awhile, or is it because of the lump on his neck that the Dr is waiting for a CT to be done to find out exactly what it is...he is scared to death that it is Leuchemia(sp)...can you ease his fears??
Hi! Welcome to HCM! Underdeveloped WBCs may indicate leukemia but there are multiple other causes too, like severe infection, hypoplasia of marrow due to some medicines. So donot worry let the whole blood work be completed.Take care!
