What Does 'undetectable Isoechoic Breast Lesions' Mean?
I had a mammogram and breast ultra sound and it came back that I had a dilated left retro areola duct. No lesions, benign lymph nodes, no solid or cystic lesion. It also said "it is important that isoechoic breast lesions may be undetectable on ultra sound...follow up is recommended of any palpable or mammographic abnormalities. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? The letter also stated that it is not likely cancer but to follow up to make sure I dont have cancer!
Hi and welcome to HCM, thanks for the query. Considering this finding it sounds like benign breast lesion most commonly fibroadenoma so you don't have to be concerned but you need frequent check ups since nothing is 100% sure. Even if there will be cancer,if you do frequent follow ups,it will be found in early phase. Wish you good health.Regards
