What Does Vibrating Sensation On The Left Thigh Indicate?
Hi my name is Mick I am 64 my left thigh feels like I have a cell phone in my pocket that is turned to vibrate. When I walk or sometimes just standing it buzzes...again like a cellphone vibration feeling. I do not keep a cell phone there very often. Has anyone else experienced this and what would be the cause. I am about 198 lbs and holding steady...I am pretty active at work and at home average walking 1.5 miles a day up to 4 miles depending how busy I am at the casino where I work.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This is mostly due to neuropathy (disturbances in nerve function). Most common cause for this is diabetes and vitamin B12 deficiency. So first of all get done blood sugar estimation and serum levels of vitamin B 12. If sugar level is high, you need anti diabetic drugs. If vitamin b 12 is low then you will need supplements. If both these are normal then get done EMG (electro myelo gram) NCV (nerve conduction velocity) study to rule out any spinal cause for neuropathy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
