What Does Weakness In The Feet Indicate?

Hello. I am a person who walks a lot. On occasion, I notice my foot where it bends upon walking, tends to sort of give out . I now use railings when walking up and down stairs, just in case it happens. The pain, or discomfort really is only where the foot bends on top. walking back from the beach the other day it was really uncomfortable.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You may want to consider visiting your doctor for an assessment and also for imaging (x-ray ) of the foot. Since you walk a lot, then it may be a soft tissue injury to the foot. But it would be best to do the x-ray to rule out soft tissue injury. Reducing walking for at least two weeks and using an anti-inflammatory painkiller such as naproxen, ibuprofen, Cataflam may help. A warm compress 2 to 4 times a day for 15 to 20 mins may also help as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
