What Does White Spot Seen On Internal Sonogram Means?
I had an internal sonogram at 7 weeks pregnant today, revealing a normal pregnancy, baby, sac and heartbeat. My OB noted a large area of "white" on the ultrasound, outside of the sac. She is referring me for a level 2 sonogram. She thought it might be scar tissue from my prior pregnancy. I had an interstitial ectopic 6 months ago, cleared up through two doses of MTX. 4 months ago, I had a sono done to make sure everything was "cleared up", and only a very small scar tissue in the interstitial region where the embryo had implanted remained. I wouldn't think this was what was showing up on her sono? Any ideas what the large white area COULD be? Thanks.
1.Generally the white what we see on the ultrasound are due to increased echo texture. 2.Increased echo texture in this case can be of sub chorion collection / bleed / scar tissue. 3.In this case it is recommended to get a followup scan in two weeks time to monitor the area. 4.In case of decrease or increase that can be considered as collection where as no change can be due to the scar tissue. 5.Rest of the finding in your report appears normal - keeping in mind the findings i would recommend to take good rest.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
