Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Yellow Bruising Behind The Knee Indicate?
Hi, I had ACL reconstructive surgery about 2 years and 6 months ago. I have resumed playing indoor soccer and a few days ago I have injured my knee. The motion that caused the discomfort was moving the leg backwards, foot on top of the ball, moving closer to myself. 4 days later I have light yellow bruising behind the knee into the top of the calf. There wasn t any noticeable swelling and I have been icing regularly.
As this appears to be a ligament weakness and muscles instability. I am not aware if you have undergone a complete sports rehabilitation program for the post ACL reconstruction. If not then some of the troubles can be faced.
For now, I will advise first for the MRI. Only if the ligament is not torn or injured than you should undergo complete post ACL rehabilitation program. Balance board training will be of inclusion as a part of sports rehabilitation and underwater training for regaining maximum output from the quadriceps muscles.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
