What Does Yellow Discharge From The Eyes Indicate?
i have sinus real bad all the time but monday the weather changed and i woke with a real red eye yesterdayi thought it was pink eye but not crusty it had yellow coming out of corner of eye and led and eye ball real sore. this morning not sore putting warm compress on but when i put on it it sound like a frog. now sore at all i have nose running and a little congestion. trying to just not take antibiotic
The symptoms you describe sound like conjunctivitis, or inflammation of the layer around your eye, and given your other symptoms, a viral cause would be most likely. For this, you do not need antibiotic drops, it will just take time for your body to clear it on its own, which can take up to 2-3 weeks.
In the meantime, you could try using an antihistamine eye drop like Naphcon-A if you have any irritation. You would also be very contagious, so while your eye is red, you should do your best not to touch it and to wash your hands frequently.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
