What Dosage Of Arthrotec Is Advisable For Pregnancy Termination?

Hey I took arthrotec 50 as prescribed to me by the doctor. I am 3 weeks pregnant and its intra uterine. The doctor prescribed 2 tablet daily under the tongue 3 times for 2 days. That did not induce any bleeding so she told me to swallow arthrotec 50 after every 6 hours for 3 days. Is the dose suitable please reply

Hi yes you can swallow the tablets. Alternatively you can take 4 tablets of Arthrotec under the tongue every 3 hours. Once the outer tablet has dissolved you can spit out the inner hard tablet as you do not need it. In total you should take 12 tablets in 3 hour intervals and the tablets should dissolve under the tongue for 30minutes. Both the regimens will cause abortion. However watch for signs of excessive bleeding. If a pad gets full soaked in 2 hours or if you notice uncontrolled continuous bleeding you should go to the hospital immediately. Take care.
