What Dosage Of Panadol Can Be Given To An Infant Post Vaccination?
Hi Doctor, My baby boy is of 36 weeks and weight is 2.4 KG. he got his second vaccination today and doctor advice to give him 3 drops of Panadol if he get fever. Appreciate, if you please tell whether we can provide him Panadol and if yes, what will be the dosage. Regards, Talha Bin Wasif
Hello. Panadol contains paracetamol. Paracetamol is quite a safe drug provided you donot overdose. The dosage of paracetamol is 15mg/kg body weight which can be given 3-4 times a day. So assuming the strength of panadol you have is 120mg/5ml, you will need to give your baby 1ml I.e. 24mg. Hope this helps. Regards, Dr Geeta
