What Dosage Of Vicodin Is Advisable While Undergoing Root Canal Treatment?

I have taken Vicodin for route canals to lessen the pain from the injections . I am having route planing in my entire mouth all at once this Wednedsday and my dentist uses Halidol. I don t want an antsychotic when Vicodin works for the pain. How many milligrams should I ask him to prescribe ? I have taken up to 1300 mg for route canal procedures.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Halidol contains Haloperidol and it is used as an anti psychotic medication and is given to you to reduce anxiety and irritation related to dental treatment..

In case if you are comfortable enough to undergo treatment you can discuss with your dentist and discuss and he can do the root planing procedure under local anaesthesia spray to avoid pain..

You need not to ask him to prescribe the dosage and let the dentist advise you on his on depending upon the requirement and pain tolerance capacity..

Taking Vicodin that is a combination of Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone can be taken to upto 1300 mg as it is in a safe range, although the dosage shall be decided by dentist..
