What Dose The CT Scan Report Indicate?

After 18 years my doctors suddenly took me off my benicar HCT to regular benicar...it s like I lost all my stamina, energy and hit a brick wall. Doctors explanation, my np was fine last checkup...doesn t want me to have any junk in my system I don t need. Yet I am barely functioning. I just saw it should not be prescribed to patients allergic to sulfa which I have been since age 18 and an now 53. Am going through cancer issues and just had latest CT SCAN TO SEE IF NODGELES HAVE GROWN...AND THEY ACTED SURPRISED I WAS ON THIS HCT while allergic all my life to sulfa...put me in hospital at age 18! Why this bullshit? And how do I get up off my bed cause this is the end...?

Hi,

In my opinion, none of the ingredient of Benicar HCT has any sulfa group, hence your apprehension that you might have been subject to sulfa related side effects is not true. However, you might be feeling some of the symptoms due to withdrawal of hydrochlorothiazide ingredient from your prescription. Of course, its withdrawal should not cause any side effect normally. But sometimes this can cause a rebound retention of water and sodium and hence, some of the symptoms.
