What Effect Would Smoking Weed Have On Concieving/implantation?
I don't know if I a pregnant or not yet...but I smoked weed around the time it was possible for me to get pregnant. I am a 34 yr old regular pot smoker but would definately stop if I were pregnant. Because I was still smoking at the time of ovulation, I am concerned of side effects. So, sex and smoking for 3 days during the "right time" to get pregnant. Implantation wouldn't have happened yet and NO more smoking. What effect would the weed have on concieving/implantation and are there any other side effects if I never smoked again during pregnancy? Thanks. I am 5 foot 1, 190 lbs and have no significant medical history
Several points. Marijuana has slight effects on fertility but it is only on the MALE (lower sperm count, slight effect). THere is minimal effects from the residual marijuana during pregnancy. There is a concern, however, of marijuana effects with exposure during pregnancy on long term brain development. But the marijuana has to be present to do that and even though you might have enough to be detected on a urine test, the blood levels are really low if you don't actually smoke marijuana.
