Hello. Thank you for writing to us

You have developed irritation to topical's that you are using, most likely to tretinoin.
Tretinoin is a topical retinoid and it has inherent irritant potential. Some individuals are more sensitive to tretinoin than others.
As a safety measure, it is always advisable to use tretinoin for just 2 hours at the start of therapy Or every alternate day.
The duration of application can subsequently be increased as toleance develops.
Right now I suggest you to discontinue tretinoin for 3-5 days and let your skin recover.
You may use an OTC topical steroid e.g cortisone cream, twice daily for 3- 5 days.
Topical steroids are antiinflammatory and would help resolve the dermatitis.
Once the dermatitis resolves, you may restart tretinoin.
Initially use it for just 2 hours daily once daily at night and gradually increase the time of application as tolerance develops.

Regards
